This map comes in several finishes, as a paper map printed on 170 gsm matt-coated FSC paper, perfect for framing under glass. We use archival grade fade-resistant pigment ink from Hewlett Packard, guaranteed for 100 years.
If you want to use this map in the field, we can supply it on waterproof/tearproof DuPont™ Tyvek®. Tyvek® is made of pure polyethylene fibres (plastic) but has the properties of paper, which means it is foldable.
We can also laminate this map, allowing you to draw on it with a whiteboard marker or apply our map dots to locations of interest without permanently marking the map. The lamination also makes the map durable and protects against tears and stains. We use two pieces of 80-micron gloss laminate, a true encapsulation by hot lamination.
Alternatively, we can supply this map on 395 gsm HP Professional Matte Canvas using pigment-based inks, making it highly durable and fade-resistant. The exceptional clarity of the printing makes this map a stunning addition to any room, and its high quality means that it will provide years of enjoyment.
The easiest way to hang your canvas map is by having wooden hang rollers attached top and bottom with a hanging cord on the top roller, so all you have to do is put a hook on the wall. The hang rails come lacquered in a natural timber colour.
Note: Please allow ten working days to deliver hang-railed maps as they need to be attached by our framer.
There are two laminated options: one is a flat laminated map from Hema for $99.95, or we can laminate a previously folded map, which means there will be some slight crease lines, but for $49.95
